Tru by Hilton Destin

We were traveling from another state and booked this place around Christmas. This was the first time we stayed at a TRU hotel and liked the place. It was quite modern and yet artistic. We also upgraded to a room with bunk beds and me and my son had a great time. They had a little convenience store at the front desk. My son developed some fever and the staff was kind enough to give us Tylenol without us having to purchase the medicines. The hot breakfast in the morning was decent. The hotel is at a walkable distance from Henderson Beach Park and withn 15-20 minutes from Destin Harbor walk. Overall, we enjoyed our quite stay and the convenience of the location.

Honestly, the hotel surprised me. It’s very clean and overall feels new or very well maintained. The gym is excellent for what you need, and everything felt very clean. The location is great, and I think it’s definitely worth giving it a try. We didn’t use the breakfast, but it’s the basic option.

Listen… this hotel should be rated 5 stars. The hotel smells and looks so clean. The staff are so friendly it feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Shevaugn was so accommodating and amazing. He made out stay so lovely. I hope he’s here when we come back. Free breakfast and WiFi. The Lobby is beautiful! 24/7 gym that’s fully equipped. Indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool looks like a waterpark; great for small children all the way up to adults with fire pits, Cabanas, and perfect lounging. There is also a gas place fire lounge/game area on the side of the hotel. I loved to see all the families, newly weds, singles, and passing through travelers. Everyone loved this place just as much as it. I’m definitely coming back and may have a family reunion or girls trip and stay here. Ohh we are right next to Walmart and exactly across the street from the beach

Loved my stay here, the facilities were clean and operational and the breakfast was good everyday. The staff was excellent, always helpful and welcoming. It's a 5-7 min walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Restaurants and Walmart are within walking distance. The only thing they can improve upon is cleaning the hallway's better. I will definitely be back to enjoy that beautiful beach again.

We had a great stay! Staff were helpful with checking us in. The room was comfy and clean, but the bathroom needs done more work. It's also more compact, then say a Hampton, but I don't mind. The rooms have a mini fridge, but no microwave. There's one on the lobby. I would also suggest adding USB-C ports to the outlets. You can use your phone as a key card if you're a Hilton Honors member, which was useful. The TV has a selection of Live TV, streaming services, and free games. The Free Wi-Fi is also fast and reliable. Free breakfast was great, but the pancake machine was broken. Your options are sausage, eggs (hard boiled and an omelette, but not fried), waffles/pancakes, some unique toppings, like Oreos and marshmallows, I have not seen at hotel breakfast before. There's also some bread, like toast and bagels. Oatmeal and yogurt is available. There's also a juice machine. There's plenty of space and places to sit down in the lobby. So, I would recommend staying at this hotel, if you don't mind the more compact room, and are okay with less amenities in your room. This is also not a waterfront hotel, if you want to know.

The hotel looks new and well maintained in general. Employees are very nice. Breakfast is decent, not great but not bad at all. The price is very fair since it’s a good location, and the room is good sized. The two cons: towels are very very low quality almost like sandpaper. But the worst part for me: the ceiling fan in the bathroom was extremely filthy. Like I have never seen something like that before. PLEASE clean the ceiling fans going forward that was a huge huge con for me.

Gavia went above and beyond for us! She helped us get checked in smoothly and helped us celebrate our honeymoon by upgrading our room. Location is perfect. Next to Walmart and a short walk to the beach. Clean amenities and great pool inside and outside!

I stayed two nights at this hotel and had a pleasant experience. The woman at the front desk, Gavia, was so sweet and made my experience memorable as well. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious! I would pay to stay just for the breakfast again! The lobby was beautiful and had lots of areas for us to work, for kids to play and to just relax. It was so nice to see other people actually in the lobby working on their computers and kids playing and everyone enjoying themselves. It's like a big work/fun zone. Also, it's right across from Walmart and right across from the state park. Gavia was so helpful and kind and whenever I had a question she was right there with an answer for me. Thank you Gavia and... the chefs who made that delicious breakfast, and to housekeeping for keeping the place pristine. Thank you Tru By Hilto, what a great stay!
